Voltage Display

Quickly and conveinently determine the voltage of your vehicle's electrical system.

A voltage display adds a compact, conveinent way to view your vehicle's electrical system's voltage without even needing to exit the car.

Your car's battery is at the heart of its electrical system. As such, it's important to monitor its condition when the car is left parked for an extended period of time.

Modern cars are practically computers on wheels. With onboard lights, security systems, control modules, and other accessories, cars depend on electricity for dozens of important functions. Nearly all passenger vehicles run on 12 volt electrical systems. As you drive your car or truck, the alternator charges up the battery at the start of this system. As your car sits, this battery is slowly drained by various accessories. If the battery falls below roughly 11 volts, the car will struggle to start. As such, it's common for drivers to check their car's voltage regularly if it's being let to sit for several days.

To check the voltage of a car's electrical system normally, you have to get a multimeter, open the hood, locate the battery, and connect to the posts. This process can be very tedious if you find yourself having to do it regularly, especially if you aren't confident under the hood of your car. Using an integrated voltage display is practically instantaneous. Just press a button or flip a switch, and the car's voltage is displayed on a compact screen.

Quick

An integrated voltage displays allows you to instantly see the voltage of your car's electrical system at the push of a button, even when the car is off.

Efficient

Voltage displays are extremely energy efficient, meaning you can check your vehicle's voltage hundreds of times without meaningfully affecting the battery.

Affordable

Voltage displays are extremely affordable, and cost less than many dedicated multimeters. Not only do you get a quicker and more conveinent experience, but you'll probably pay less that using traditional methods as well.

Tapping

In order to function, voltage displays need to be tapped into your car's electrical system. This is generally done discretely using an integrated fuse-tap. This option is required, and can't be disabled.

Displays

A display is the screen responsible for showing your vehicle's voltage. In most cases a single display will suffice. However, if you have multiple power sources, like solar panels or an external battery maintainer, you might choose to have multiple displays to monitor all of them at once.

The displays are available in white, red, green, blue, and yellow. These colors can be mixed and matched as desired.

Activation

When you want to activate your voltage display(s), there's two main methods. A switch allows you to permanently turn the display on until you flip the switch back off. A button allows you to momentarily turn the display on. Releasing the button turns the display back off. It's possible to have both activation methods installed on a single voltage display. If either is activated, the display will turn on.

If you want a conveinent and quick method for activating your voltage display, a momentary button would be a great option.

If you want to leave your voltage display activated while leaving your hands free, a switch could be the way to go.

Drilling

For the cleanest possible look, you can have switches and buttons embedded in the interior panels of your car. This process involves drilling and holes, and therefore is much more time consuming, since safe drilling locations need to be researched.

While you get to choose where the switches and buttons are mounted, there's no guarantees that any particular location is possible. I don't mount switches or buttons around airbags, emergency controls, or other safety critical components. If you'd like to see if a particular mounting location is feasible, don't hestitate to reach out!
