Terms of Use

Before signing up for a V0LT account, there's a few things you should know. By creating an account with V0LT, you agree to these terms.

Privacy

Privacy is a critical aspect of V0LT. To learn about how V0LT manages your privacy, you can visit the dedicated page here.

Rules

By saying up for a V0LT account or using V0LT products, you agree to follow these rules and terms.

  1. Any given person should only have a single V0LT account, unless one of the following exceptions apply.
    • You want to create an account for your business or organization that is separate from your personal account.
    • You want to create a second account for testing purposes, and remove it after testing is complete.
  2. Publicly available information associated with your V0LT account (including its username) are not permitted to have misleading, obscene, offense, vulgar, or otherwise objectionable content.
    • On some occasions, certain characters in an otherwise innocent username may be detected as vulgar language. Accounts like this are not prohibited, and can be overridden upon request.
    • Account usernames that might mislead or deceive users are also forbidden under this rule.
  3. V0LT products and services should not be used in ways they were not intended for as a way of abusing the system.
    • This rule forbids actions that are likely to cause damage to V0LT infrastructure, compromise the availability of services, circumvent security measures, or otherwise harm V0LT products, services, and property.
    • V0LT accounts should not be used to store excessive amounts of data, especially if that information has no practical use.
  4. Personal information that you choose to associate with your V0LT account should be accurate to the best of your knowledge.
    • While you are not required to provide any personal information when signing up for an account, if you voluntarily supply V0LT with personal information, that information should be accurate.
    • Providing inaccurate information can make it difficult or impossible for V0LT to verify your identity in the event that you need technical support.

Deletion

V0LT accounts can be deleted at any time. As such, you should not store critical information in your V0LT account unless you are prepared to lose it. Below are several points to understand about the deletion of V0LT accounts.

  • Anyone can delete their own V0LT account by visiting the account page and pressing the "Delete Account" button. This process is instant and irreversable.
  • V0LT administrators can delete V0LT accounts for any reason, but are only likely to do so in the following circumstances.
    1. An account breaks any of the terms outlined here.
    2. An account is left unused, especially if it does not have any information or data associated with it.
      • For example, if an account contains data for a Home Base page, it is less likely to be deleted, since the account is being used for something, even if not actively.
    3. In the event that a user forgets their password, and wishes to delete their account, but can't verify their identity, V0LT may delete the account without verification after a certain period of time has passed without the account being used.
      • These cases are handled on a case by case basis, and are treated similar to the way dormant accounts are treated.
      • If a user can't verify their ownership of the account they claim is theirs, then the account is only deleted after it has been dormant for a sufficient amount of time to show that it is not actively being used.
